Buzzard Studies

This piece was completed as a gift, referencing a photograph of a buzzard. The goal was to make the eye look alive to give the illustration a central focal point. The practice studies were completed with pen, using some pointillism to achieve glasslike shading. The final piece was drawn in colored pencils with more brisk lines imitating the bird’s wildness.
